Olivia was a senior at Bozeman High School last year. She graduated early because she had a baby in December. Olivia, like her mother, started a family at a very young age, was ill-equipped to earn a living as a high school age parent, and created a lot of challenges for her future opportunities. However, Olivia has been a scholar in the Bay Ed Foundation’s Take Stock in Children program since she was thirteen and as a result of successfully completing our mentoring program and maintaining good grades, had earned a 2-year FL Prepaid scholarship. Olivia called our office two days before classes began at Gulf Coast this August and registered as a first-generation college student, a single mother, and a teenage parent. Because of donors like you, the Bay Education Foundation created a path forward for Olivia and changed the course of an entire family.
